Join the Crew
CanSail’s young crews set sail under the care and instruction of dedicated volunteers from all walks of life. With backgrounds in sailing, their main motivation is the reward of working with young people.
Under the watchful eye of Fox II’s professional skipper, the bosun and his team of youth workers inform and encourage their young crews in a safe yet challenging environment. Many of our volunteers have sailing qualifications, and hours spent on board can be logged as 'sea time' towards various maritime certificates.
CanSail welcomes enquiries from anyone wishing to join CanSail and our volunteer crew list. The CanSail membership subscription is $10.00 per annum.
Crew Training Day is held in mid October. As schools fill the majority of CanSail's schedule, most week days are fully booked. In addition, there are weekend and evening sailings to accommodate community youth groups.
Subject to sponsorship, limited youth worker expenses may be available for members able to crew a number of trips.
